The Hyundai Santa Fe has been the recipient of much praise, and more than its fair share of awards, since its launch in May 2006. And the accolades keep coming, with the 2.2 CRTD model being voted 'Greenest Large 4x4' in What Car? magazine's recent Best Green Cars honours, as well as Car of the Year in the Family 4x4s category of the evecars.com awards.
In giving the
Santa Fe
first place honours, the judges at What Car? commented "the
Santa Fe
is the greenest option, with a C02 output of just 191g/km. Its 2.2-litre diesel engine is clean, while the
Santa Fe
is stunningly practical and good to drive."
Just as impressive is the evecars.com car of the year award. After selecting a shortlist of 27 vehicles, the panel of 'real women' put them through a vigorous testing process before picking a winner in each of the nine categories. The judges described the
Santa Fe
as smooth, powerful and quiet, adding: "with five on board, there's still decent room for their luggage and lots more storage spaces."
